Meet Aura, your empathetic musical companion. Aura uses a series of questions to gauge your mood and create a custom playlist of guided meditations and music to calm you down from any emotional distress you may be in. Feelings of anger, sadness, and anxiety can be distilled by the comforting aura of Aura.

User Persona

Jane is a college student pursuing a degree in computer science. Her academic workload is demanding, often leaving her feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Balancing coursework, extracurricular activities, and a part-time job, Jane struggles to find time for self-care. She recognizes the importance of managing her mental well-being but finds it challenging to relax after a stressful day.

How Aura Meets Jane’s Needs

Aura offers Jane a personalized experience by using a series of questions to understand her current mood and emotional state.

The app provides a custom playlist of guided meditations and soothing music tailored to Jane’s specific emotions, helping them relax and unwind effectively.

With Aura, Jane can access quick and convenient solutions to manage stress and anxiety without having to spend a lot of time looking for what she needs.

The empathetic nature of Aura allows Jane to feel understood and supported.

The idea I had for this interface was to be as simple as possible, as the users in mind were grasping for quick support and stress management as opposed to a robust process. This was done through physical and digital wireframe iterations in addition to feedback from peers. The early concept helped clarify the direction of the project and guided the development of a more refined, mid-fidelity wireframe created in Figma.

API

The utilization of OpenAI API is a key factor in the development of this concept. It allows for users to hear responses to their troubles. Pairing this with LLM APIs such as ChatGPT for conversational skills and LLaMA, which generates personalized recommendations, allows for a useful and relevant response, as well as an insightful playlist result. Additional APIs such as OpenWhyd allow for playlists to intake content from multiple resource libraries instead of staying limited to just one streaming service or platform. This allows for the playlists to be populated with a plethora of additional content.
